Travel vaccinations

If you travel to areas where infectious diseases occur which normally do not or hardly appear in western Europe you might be at medical risk. Often medical assistance is also less accessible than we are used to. That is why there is a vaccination advice for various countries outside Europe.

Patients who are registered at General practice De Appel can, prior to traveling abroad, contact us for traveler advice that fits the personal situation and for administering the necessary vaccinations.

For this we ask you to fill in and provide us with our travelers vaccination form at least 5 weeks before departure. Within a few days we will contact you to make an appointment.
During this consultation you will receive an appropriate travel advice and agreements can be made about possible vaccinations. If you already have a (yellow) vaccination booklet, it is important to take this with you.

BE AWARE: The traveler advice and vaccinations are not covered by the basic health insurance. Possibly the costs are (partially) reimbursed by your additional health insurance. You need to check this yourself with your health insurance company.

  • The traveler advice is 57,-- euro per person. (This is inclusive the administering of the vaccinations.) You need to pay these costs cash after the consultation. You receive an invoice which you can possibly submit to your health insurer.
  • You need to pick up and pay the necessary vaccines yourself  at your pharmacy. The costs for the vaccinations can be calculated at the website Medicijnkosten.nl.

More advice and information about the necessary vaccinations can be found at the website from the Landelijk Coördinatiecentrum Reizigersadvisering (LCR).
